Intergenerational Connections

We hosted our first Parent (carer) & Child meet-up at Mill Lane Care Home last week.

It was lovely to visit the residents again & also to meet the children & their parents who came along.

We played skittles & catch as a way to break the ice & encourage the children to interact with the older adults. One of the residents read to the children & we planted cress seeds together, something to remind the children & older adults of their time together.

We're hoping to hold face to face sessions every 6 weeks, to link with the school holidays. Our next meet-up will be during the October half term. In between meet-up's the children have been invited to send pictures & letters to the residents as a way of maintaining their connections.
